Welcome to Issaquah Optometric Center!

Who we are

Established in 1989, Issaquah Optometric Center has prided itself on providing excellent care, from the exam lane down to the final fit and finish of your new pair of glasses.

Welcome to Issaquah Optometric Center! Established in 1989, Issaquah Optometric Center prides itself on providing the highest level of eye care for all our patients. To ensure we are on the cutting edge, we routinely attend and participate in all the best conferences and follow most journals, such that our techniques and procedures are always modern and up to date. Our glasses are always double checked for accuracy, and all lenses are always made with the absolute best quality lens materials, designs and antireflective coatings on the market.

Dr. Chang is originally from the Pacific Northwest and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology; afterwards, he moved to California where he attended the University of California – Berkeley to obtain his doctorate. Following his didactic coursework, he completed multiple internships that focused on ocular disease and diagnosis, spending time at Raymond G Murphy Medical Center, VA Portland Health Care System and Spark Matsunaga Medical Center where he was the top ranked intern on staff and finished with honors.

Our office manager Pat Geraghty has been with Issaquah Optometric Center since nearly the very beginning, and has provided numerous patients with care, patience and understanding. Always friendly and accommodating, she will always work at her best to make sure her patients are satisfied. From special ordering frames and lenses to making sure each fit is perfect for the individual, Pat always goes out of her way to ensure each and every patient is satisfied.

Medical Procedures and Exams

If you’re interested in refractive surgery (PRK/LASIK), cataract surgery or would just like a second opinion, give us a call. We also perform consultations to check for diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, dry eyes/ocular surface disease, glaucoma and a variety of other medical conditions.

Wellness & Routine Eye Exams

Our annual wellness exams offer a complete checkup of all the various aspects of your eye, from the cornea to the optic nerve. Starting with your refraction, we carefully determine what glasses or contact lens prescription best provides optimal clarity; afterwards we methodically check all the systems of your eye to ensure they are healthy. While having good eyesight is fantastic, it is unfortunately no guarantee that it’s healthy: diseases such as hypertension, diabetes or retinal tears often go unnoticed by the individual. Annual exams by a qualified doctor help to prevent anything from robbing your eyesight.

Contact Lens Evaluations

Contact lens fittings are also performed and evaluated here. In addition to spherical and astigmatic contact lenses, we also fit specialty contact lenses for keratoconus, dry eye and post-surgical patients.  For those who require a bifocal or progressive lens, multifocal and monovision contact lenses are available from a wide range of manufacturers.
